Urushi lacquerware Bowl with Balloon flower pattern / 桔梗椀 made by Rei Murase

The base of this small bowl is made from persimmon wood, turned on a Japanese lathe before being meticulously coated in urushi lacquer and hand painted with a balloon flower design. Each piece is handmade and unique. The tiny shape of the bowl is perfect for serving pickles, nuts or small desserts, or would make a lovely display for jewellery.

柿の木を挽き、繊細に漆を塗り重ねた軽い器に星の様な花の形が特徴的な桔梗をあしらいました。

丈夫なお椀によりお料理が映え、おいしくなります。

たおやかな曲線の小ぶりのお椀は食事にもデザートにも使えます。
